As the Title says, my 96 Gal has developed a habit of kangarooing.

Scenario, acelerating upto approx 70mph and then after a few seconds it starts to lose power. Can accelerate thru this and sit at 80mph but again it starts to lose power again. Dropping to below 70 is fine. Tried it in 4th gear to see if it is rev linked but it still does the same at 70mph in 4th.

The wife who mostly drives the car, says she sometimes has trouble accelerating from a standing start, lots of revs and no power (she assures me the car is in gear :( )

One other thing, the engine temp never gets into the 'NORM' area on the gauge, heater is warm but not hot assume its the thermostat ?

Car was recently serviced with new plugs fitted, cat is 12 months old.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Plugs/plug leads and coil/coil packs? If the temperature gauge is indicating that the water temp is not getting up to normal, this can affect performance - but then I'd expect that the ECU would let the engine run rich, as it thinks it is still warming up. Best to get the thermostat and temp sender sorted first.
